What Do You Need To Play Rummikub

There are 104 tiles numbered 1 to 13 in 4 colors-blue, black, orange and red. Each color has two sets of numbered tiles. Two more joker tiles are also there. There is a rack for every player to place the tiles on.

How To Play Rummikub

At the start all the tiles are placed face down at the center of the table and mixed well. Every player takes 14 tiles from the table and places them on his/her rack. The objective of the game of Rummikub is to become the first player to empty the rack. For this players meld their tiles into sets of groups or runs.

A Group is a set of 3 or 4 tiles of same number but different colors.
Example: Blue 9, Black 9, Orange 9, and Red 9 – these 4 tiles form a group.

A Run is a set of 3 or more tiles of same color that are numbered consecutively.
Example: Blue 3, Blue 4 and Blue 5

At the start, every player should place sets valued at least 30 points on to the table. This is called initial meld. If a player cannot place initial meld he/she has to take tile from the center pool. Players play in succession-they place melds, or manipulate the tiles on their rack each time taking a tile from the pool.

The player who empties the rack first is the winner.
