Rummikub – The popular game of Rummikub, invented around 1940. Set – a set can either be a Group or a Run. Group – 3 or 4 tiles of the same number but different color. Run – 3 or 4 tiles with consecutive numbers and the same color. Tile – a game tile in Rummikub is numbered and colored in either black, blue, orange, or red (except for the two Joker tiles which are neutral colored). Joker – the joker tile can replace tiles in sets. Manipulation – this is when each player tries to place on the table as many tiles as possible. Initial meld – the first move in the game when each player must place sets on the table valued at 30 points or more. Sabra Rummikub – the most popular Rummikub variation is the Sabra Rummikub. American Rummikub – a Rummikub variation that first appeared in 1978. It is similar to Romanian Tile Rummy. International Rummikub – a sophisticated Rummikub variation that resembles American Rummikub. It also incorporates special hands that are reminiscent of Mahjongg special hands. Ephraim Hertzano – the inventor of Rummikub. Rummy – a game usually played by 2 to 4 players, and either a fixed number of deals are played, or the game is played to a target score. The game is played with a standard 52 deck of cards.
